About Castillo de Gibralfaro

Gibralfaro was built in the 14th century by Yusuf I of Granada to protect the Alcazaba below, and its walls can be walked almost end to end for views over the bullring, port and bay. The 20-minute uphill path from the Alcazaba is steep but shaded; bus 35 from the Alameda is the alternative. Same hours and ticketing as the Alcazaba (combined ticket €10), and the mirador terrace beside the Parador outside the walls is free and ideal at sunset.
