About Puente Nuevo, Ronda
Completed in 1793 after 34 years of work, the Puente Nuevo links Ronda's old Moorish town to the 18th-century new town across a 100 m chasm, and the view of it from the Mirador de Aldehuela or from the path down to the Arco de Cristo is the reason most people make the trip. A small interpretation center inside the bridge's former prison chamber explains its construction (€2.50, open daily, typically 10:00 to 18:00 or later). Ronda is 75 minutes from Marbella by the A-397 mountain road; come early or stay overnight, since day-trip coaches fill the center from 11:00 to 16:00.
