Istán Village

Istán sits at the end of a 15 km mountain road from Marbella, above the reservoir whose turquoise water is visible from most of the village. Its Moorish-era irrigation channels still run through the streets, the Fuente del Nacimiento spring is the traditional meeting point, and marked trails lead into the Sierra de las Nieves and down to the water. It is the quietest of Marbella's hinterland villages and best visited for a morning walk and a late lunch.
