Málaga's Holy Week is one of the great processional traditions of Spain. More than 40 brotherhoods carry monumental tronos, some weighing several tons and borne by hundreds of men, through the center from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, accompanied by brass bands and the smell of incense and wax. The Legion's arrival with the Cristo de la Buena Muerte on Holy Thursday is the most famous moment. Street viewing is free, but the official route fills early; the Agrupación de Cofradías sells numbered seats on the route, and hotels and restaurants with balconies on Calle Larios book out well in advance.
Recurs: annual, Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday (21-28 March 2027; 9-16 April 2028).
No ticket needed. RSVP so the organiser can keep you posted and save you a spot if capacity is limited.
