The evening before Epiphany is the main gift-giving night in Spain, and the Kings' arrival is the biggest family event of the year. In Málaga the Three Kings traditionally come down from the Alcazaba to the town hall and then lead a parade of floats, bands and street performers along the Paseo del Parque and the Alameda, throwing several tons of candy into the crowd. Roadside viewing is free; the council sells numbered grandstand seats at strategic points through its online Ventanilla Virtual, which is worth it with small children. The parade usually starts in the late afternoon and lasts around three hours. Every town on the coast has its own cabalgata the same evening, and Marbella's runs through the old town.
Recurs: annual, the afternoon and evening of 5 January (moved earlier in the day in some years when rain is forecast).
No ticket needed. RSVP so the organiser can keep you posted and save you a spot if capacity is limited.
