Feria de Málaga

Málaga's August fair is the biggest street party on the coast. By day the historic center fills with sevillanas, sherry and horse-drawn carriages until 6 pm; by night the action moves to the Cortijo de Torres fairground on the edge of town, where casetas (marquees) host live music until the small hours. It is a family event as much as a party, and nearly all of it is free. Book city-center hotels months ahead, wear comfortable shoes for the cobbles, and use the Metro or the free shuttle buses rather than driving to the fairground.

Recurs: annual, eight days in mid-August commemorating the 1487 reconquest of the city (2026 edition: 15-22 August; 2027 dates not yet approved by the city council).
