Refugio de Juanar
Sierra Blanca s/n, MA-5300, 29610 Ojén, Ojén
About Refugio de Juanar
The Refugio de Juanar began as the hunting lodge of the Larios family and was later a state parador; Charles de Gaulle spent weeks here in 1970 finishing his memoirs. Today it is a modest mountain hotel with about 25 rooms and a restaurant known for game and roasts, set in a high valley of olive trees at roughly 780 m, 10 km above Ojén by the MA-5300. Even if you are not staying, it is the place to park for the viewpoint and summit walks and to have lunch afterward; reviews through 2026 show it operating, but its old website is offline, so call ahead or book through a hotel platform.
