Real Club de Golf Sotogrande

The original Sotogrande course opened in 1964 as Trent Jones's first work in Europe and remains one of Spain's finest classic layouts: a par 72 of 6,492 m through umbrella pines, cork oaks and lakes beside the Guadiaro estuary. It is a private members' club: visitor play is limited and arranged directly with the club, with a handicap certificate required, so enquire well ahead. The clubhouse on Paseo del Parque is the social heart of old Sotogrande.
