About Mijas Pueblo
Mijas Pueblo is the postcard white village of the central coast, a 20-minute drive above Fuengirola. Its lanes of souvenir shops and ceramics studios lead to the Mirador del Compás viewpoint, the tiny Ermita de la Virgen de la Peña carved into the rock in the 17th century, and the oval bullring. The famous burro-taxis still operate from the main square, though a walk through the upper streets or the Muralla gardens is the better use of an hour. Coaches arrive mid-morning, so plan an early or late visit.
