La Carihuela

La Carihuela is the low-rise fishermen's neighborhood at the western end of Torremolinos, where the promenade is lined with chiringuitos grilling sardines on cane skewers over driftwood fires. It is the best place on the central coast for an unfussy seafood lunch, with a beach that is wide, clean and easy to reach on foot from the Benalmádena marina. Sunday lunch is busy with Málaga families; weekday evenings are calm.
