Torre del Mar Promenade and Lighthouse

Torre del Mar's Paseo Marítimo is one of the longest and least touristy promenades in the province, running from the modern lighthouse at the western end past a string of chiringuitos to the Caleta marina of Vélez-Málaga. It is a place for a long walk or cycle rather than sightseeing, with an outdoor gym, playgrounds and a Thursday market behind the beach. The town is a 35-minute drive east of Málaga and makes a good lunch stop on the way to Nerja.
