Cueva del Tesoro

The Treasure Cave takes its name from a legend of Almoravid gold hidden inside, but its real interest is geological: the galleries were hollowed out by waves when the sea level was higher, leaving smooth, rounded chambers unlike the dripstone caves elsewhere. The guided route takes about 45 minutes; adults pay €4.65 and the cave is open morning and afternoon with a midday closure, longer in summer. It sits above La Cala del Moral, 10 minutes east of Málaga, and combines well with the coastal path through the old railway tunnels.
