Casares is a protected historic village piled beneath a Moorish castle about 15 km inland from Estepona. Its municipality also runs down to the sea at Casares Costa, where Playa Ancha and the Finca Cortesín estate sit. Visitors come for the view from the castle, the pueblo's streets, and the golf below.
