About Dolmens of Antequera

The Menga and Viera dolmens stand side by side at the edge of Antequera, with the beehive-vaulted Tholos of El Romeral 4 km away; Menga's chamber, roofed by 180-ton capstones, is aligned on the face-shaped mountain of La Peña de los Enamorados rather than the sunrise, which is part of what earned the site its listing. Start at the visitor center for the film, then walk to the two main dolmens; the whole visit takes about 90 minutes. Entry is free for EU citizens and €1.50 for others; closed Mondays, open Tuesday to Saturday 09:00 to 18:00 and Sundays to 15:00 in winter, with morning and evening sessions in summer.
