Mercado Central de Atarazanas

The central market stands on the site of the Nasrid shipyard, whose marble horseshoe gate was kept when the iron hall was built in 1879, and the stained-glass window at the far end shows the city's monuments. Fish, Iberian ham, olives, dried fruit and spices fill the three naves, and the tapas bars along the edges serve grilled seafood and vermouth from mid-morning. Open Monday to Saturday from about 08:00 to 15:00; go before noon for the full display and a bar stool.
