Feria y Fiestas Mayores de Estepona

Estepona's summer fair stops the town for a week in early July. The flower-lined old town hosts the day fair, with bars and squares full of music and sevillanas, and the fairground takes over at night with marquees, rides and free concerts at the municipal caseta. The program follows the classic Andalusian pattern: a pregón and lighting ceremony with fireworks, the crowning of the fair queen, a children's day with cheaper rides and equestrian displays. All activities are free. It is an easy fair for visitors staying on the New Golden Mile; park on the edge of town and walk, because the center is closed to traffic for most of the week.
