Sotogrande International Polo Tournament

Sotogrande's summer polo is the most important tournament in continental Europe, with around 25 teams across high, medium and low handicap divisions and a month of afternoon matches that build to the Gold Cup final at the end of August. Since 2023 the event has been organized by Ayala Polo Club on its fields at Los Pinos and San Enrique de Guadiaro. Watching is free and relaxed: people set up on the grass with a picnic, and the sideline terraces and pop-up bars are where Sotogrande's summer social life happens. Matches usually start around 5 or 6 pm when the heat eases; dress is smart-casual, and there is ample parking on the fields.

Recurs: annual, late July to the end of August in three stages: Bronze, Silver and Gold cups (2026, 55th edition: 27 July-29 August, Gold Cup 17-29 August).
