Estepona Old Town Walking Guide: Murals, Flowers and Tapas
A two-hour loop through the town's painted streets and flower-pot alleys, ending at the port for the catch of the day.
Estepona's old quarter is the most photographed on the coast for a reason: every street has its own colour of flower pots, and the town's programme of building-sized murals has turned blank walls into a gallery.
The loop
- Start at the orchid house and walk up through the pedestrian streets towards the church square.
- Follow the painted streets west, stopping at the larger murals on the apartment blocks.
- Drop down to the promenade and walk west to the port.
- Finish with a late lunch at Mar Salada or a vermouth at La Bodeguita del Puerto.
When to go
Morning light is best for photographs; the murals face every direction, so there is always one in the sun. Sundays are quietest.
Where to stay
