Granada is outside Málaga province, about 125 km northeast of Málaga via the A-45 and A-92, roughly 90 minutes by car or just over an hour by train. It is a long day trip from the Costa del Sol, built around the Alhambra, the Albaicín quarter and a tapas culture where drinks still come with free food.
